Hello from a cold and wet West Wales,

Youy are receiving this email because you subscriber to P.F. Ford's email list.

New book ‘A Fatal Deception.'

I'm pleased to announce the latest Slater and Norman Mystery novel is available in the Amazon Kindle store, and on Kindle Unlimited from December 15th. This novel is slightly shorter than previous stories, but the book also includes ‘Norman Norman's Christmas Novella' (for those who may feel short-changed).

As usual, the book will be available at a reduced price for a few days but will be going up to full price from 20th December.

New Covers and Series Name

If you didn't already know, the series is now called the ‘Slater and Norman Mystery' series to reflect Norm's importance, and the book covers have been updated to reflect this as well. I think the new covers look great, and the feedback I've had reflects that. I hope you like them, too.

New Subscriber Offer

A few months ago anyone subscribing to this email list received a free copy of a prequel novella to the Slater and Norman series. Called ‘A Complete Fiasco (The Dave Slater Version)' this novella is, once again, available as a gift to new subscribers. If you don't have a copy you can download it here.

Change of Plan

I must apologise to my non-Kindle readers. You may be aware that for the last three months my books have only been available from the Kindle store. Sales had been steadily falling in the Apple, Nook, and Kobo stores, and I wanted to see how much difference it made being exclusive to Amazon and taking advantage of their Kindle Unlimited service.

The original plan had been to return my books to the other stores from 22nd December when my Amazon exclusive deal ended. That idea has now been shelved. Over the last three months my Kindle Unlimited royalties have been well over ten times the royalties earned from Apple, Nook and Kobo combined.

Being exclusive to Amazon also means I will have to forget about selling books directly from my website for the time being.

I know this decision will disappoint some of you, but I hope you will understand why I am staying Amazon exclusive for now.

This last year

I don't want to make excuses, but this has been a long, and challenging, year during which I have found it hard to focus on my writing or my business. My mother has been ill for some time, and was expected to pass away in August. In the event she was far more stubborn than her doctors had imagined and she didn't slip away until the end of November!

She was laid to rest last Monday on a freezing, snowy, wintry day. She would have been disappointed with the weather, but pleased so many people were there for the service despite the weather!

Thanks To All Of You

Of course, my wife Mary has been right there with me through this period, but I would also like to thank every single subscriber to this email list. Without your continued support and encouragement, I would probably have stopped writing altogether this year, but so many people have shown an interest in my work it has inspired me to keep going.

Mary and I would like to say a big thank you. We know that with your continued support next year will be much better!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Pete and Mary

P.S. You will hear from again on, or around, the 15th January 2018.
